Recipes: Tandoori

Kali's Tandoori Kofta in Masala Sauce
  • 1 jar Kali's Table Classic Punjabi Masala Cooking Sauce
  • 2 tsp, rounded, Kali's Table Tandoori Marinade & Grilling Sauce
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 400°F. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, onions, egg, cilantro and Kali's Table Tandoori Marinade. Form the meat mixture into small koftas (meatballs) about 1½" in diameter. Bake the koftas in an oven-proof dish, covered, until firm, about 20 minutes. Heat Kali's Table Classic Punjabi Masala Cooking Sauce in a pan on the stove top; add the yogurt. Add the baked koftas and simmer for about 20 minutes. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chopped cilantro.

Serves 4, or more if serving as an appetizer.

Kali's Tandoori Chicken Wings
  • 2 Tbsp Kali's Table Tandoori Marinade & Grilling Sauce
  • 1 lb chicken wings
  • 1 1/2 cups plain yogurt

Preparation:

Mix Kali's Table Tandoori Marinade & Grilling Sauce with the yogurt. Add the chicken wings, stir to cover. Cover and refrigerate over night or at least 1 - 2 hours to marinade.

Place chicken wings and marinade in a shallow oven proof dish being careful not to overlap the wings. Broil on low, 10 - 15 minutes each side. Use reserve marinade for basting. Serve as an appetizer or party snack.

Serves 4.

Substitute Kali's Table Tandoori Marinade & Grilling Sauce with 2 tsp Kali's Table Garam Masala spice blend for alternate flavoring.

Tip: Use new baby potatoes (4) if available, boil with skin on and continue as directed.
